Venice in glass, color in depth

The Salviati Lido collection, designed by Alberto Lago, was born as a tribute to the Venice Lido, amidst the sea, architecture, and the charm of the Belle Époque. Each piece is handmade in Murano and brings a precise idea of contemporary luxury into the home: essential form, rich material, solid color.

Signature technique: overlay glass

The distinctive feature is the incamiciato, also known as overlay glass: hot glass is “dressed” with a layer of a different color, so the hue becomes more intense and deep. In some processes, the shape is guided by a wooden mold, then finished by hand according to the Murano tradition.

Three themes, three atmospheres

  • Amaranti: echoes of the Excelsior beach huts and decorative spheres, with soft silhouettes and Mediterranean colors.
  • Liberty: sinuous lines and details inspired by historic villas, for a more graphic and luminous feel.
  • Murazzi: material and the boundary between lagoon and sea, for those who prefer a more tactile reading of glass.

Choose vases or bowls from the Lido collection to decorate, collect, or gift a Venetian icon that is both current and enduring.

Facts about Salviati Lido vases

What does overlay glass mean?

It is a technique in which a hot glass object is covered with a second layer of colored glass. The result is a more saturated color, with greater depth and a sense of richer material.

Where is the Salviati Lido collection made?

The Lido vases and bowls are handmade in Murano, following traditional furnace practices, with piece-by-piece manual finishing.

What is the difference between Amaranti and Liberty?

Amaranti interprets the seaside elegance of the Excelsior in Venice, with soft shapes and full volumes. Liberty, on the other hand, evokes the historic architecture of the Lido with more sinuous lines and a more evident decorative touch.

Is it normal to find small differences between one piece and another?

Yes. The artisanal process can generate slight variations in tone, thickness, and shape. It is part of the value of handmade glass.
