Salviati Drops: Murano Glass Teardrop Vases
Salviati’s Drops collection
Drops was born in Murano from the meeting of Venetian tradition and contemporary design. Since 1859, Salviati has brought a precise vision to glass: solid color, rigorous craftsmanship, and objects that are recognizable at a glance.
Teardrop shape, rigadin, and the artisan’s touch
Designed by Renzo Stellon in 2002, Drops interprets the theme of the drop with a soft belly and a slender neck. Each vase is blown glass, mold-blown with rigadin, and then hand-shaped. The rigadin is a series of fine vertical ribs obtained during blowing, designed to catch the light and add rhythm to the surface.

If you are looking for a Murano glass vase that combines sculptural presence with elegant proportions, Drops is the right choice. It works as a single-flower vase with just a few stems, enhances a compact bouquet, or stands alone as a decorative piece on a shelf or table. Choose the color that speaks to your home and build your own combination, size after size.
Curiosities about Salviati’s Drops vases
What is the rigadin technique?
It is a texture of fine vertical ribs obtained during the glass blowing process in a mold. It serves to add rhythm to the surface and to reflect light in a more dynamic way.
Is Drops made of Murano blown glass?
Yes, Drops vases are made with blown glass and finished by hand according to Murano tradition, with a final shaping stage that defines the characteristic teardrop form.
Which size should I choose among Small, Medium, and Large?
Small is ideal for a few stems and small spaces. Medium is the most versatile choice for tables and consoles. Large is a statement piece, perfect on the floor, on large sideboards, or in dramatic entryways.
What is the difference between glossy and satin finish?
The glossy finish enhances the brilliance and depth of the color. The satin finish diffuses light with a softer, velvety effect, which is very suitable for sober or minimal interiors.
How do I clean a Drops vase?
Use lukewarm water and a mild detergent, then dry with a soft cloth. Avoid thermal shock and abrasive products to protect the surface and the finish.
